HELIXBALANCE identifies genome instability by monitoring somatic mutations and therefore the tumor suppressor genes that are responsible for their formation.
Monitoring of genome instability
Why perform HELIXBALANCE test
Genome instability occurs when, due to some mutations at the level of tumor suppressor genes, somatic mutations accumulate; this condition is symptomatic of the body’s inability to repair DNA.
Thanks to the HELIXBALANCE test, it is possible to monitor mutations and identify genome instability in order to manage it by acting on lifestyle and optimizing the intake of nutrients (vitamins).
How the test is performed
The test involves a simple blood sample that can be performed at one of our reference centers or through your trusted doctor.
The Bioscience Institute laboratories extract the DNA present in the sample and sequence it using advanced Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) techniques. The subsequent bioinformatic analysis allows to determine the presence of any mutations in the genes under examination.
Test results are available in approximately 30 days.
