EXOFEMALE - Exosome Therapy for Vaginal Rejuvenation

The EXOFEMALE protocol: consultation, the session, number of treatments, aftercare

EXOFEMALE is Bioscience Institute's exosome therapy for vaginal rejuvenation: concentrated exosomes from mesenchymal stem cells are applied topically or with fine injections to the vaginal and vulvar tissue, in a private outpatient session with minimal downtime. It belongs to the family of intimate regenerative treatments, alongside vaginal PRP and stem cell therapy.

This page explains the protocol: what EXOFEMALE includes, the checks before treatment, the session step by step, how many treatments are needed and the aftercare. For the conditions it addresses and how exosomes act on intimate tissue, see vaginal exosomes for female rejuvenation; for exosomes in general, our guide to exosome therapy.

What the EXOFEMALE protocol includes

EXOFEMALE is a complete plan rather than a single injection. It includes:

  • a consultation and gynaecological assessment;
  • a personal plan that chooses topical application, injection or both;
  • one or more treatment sessions with tested exosomes;
  • follow-up visits to review comfort, function and any urinary symptoms.

The exosomes come from human adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AD-MSCs) and carry lipids, messenger RNA, cytokines and proteins. They are tested for quality and quantity and screened for sterility, safety for use and endotoxins before they reach the treatment room.

Before treatment: consultation and checks

The first visit establishes what you want to improve and whether EXOFEMALE is the right tool. The specialist discusses your symptoms, such as dryness, pain during intercourse, laxity, reduced sensation or leakage of urine, together with your obstetric and menopausal history and any hormonal treatment.

A gynaecological examination checks the tissue and rules out infection. Your cervical screening should be up to date, and any unexplained bleeding is investigated before treatment. Pregnancy and active infection are reasons to wait.

The EXOFEMALE session step by step

An EXOFEMALE session takes place on an outpatient basis, in a comfortable and private setting. The steps are:

  1. Preparation: the area is cleansed and, if injections are planned, a topical anaesthetic is applied to the vulvar and vaginal tissue.
  2. PRP, if planned: a small sample of your blood is drawn and processed to obtain platelet-rich plasma.
  3. Treatment: the exosomes are applied to the vaginal walls or injected with a very fine needle into the target areas, such as the vaginal opening, the vaginal walls or the vulva, according to your plan.
  4. Rest and discharge: after a short rest you go home the same day.

The whole visit is short, and much of the time is preparation and numbing.

Topical application or injection?

The choice between topical application and injection depends on the problem being treated. Topical application spreads exosomes over the lining of the vagina and suits diffuse dryness and thinning. Injections place them precisely into the tissue and suit laxity or localised areas of change.

Some plans combine the two methods. The specialist explains the reasoning behind your plan at the consultation, so you know why each area is treated the way it is.

Vaginal PRP and exosomes

Vaginal PRP and exosomes bring different regenerative signals, which is why women often ask about them together. PRP is prepared from your own blood on the day and concentrates platelet growth factors; exosomes add a laboratory-tested set of stem cell signals, including microRNAs, that support collagen, blood vessels and the control of inflammation.

Whether one, the other or both make sense depends on your symptoms and the specialist's assessment. Our comparison of exosomes vs PRP explains the differences in detail.

Intimate regenerative treatments compared

EXOFEMALE is one of three regenerative approaches to intimate health. The table shows how they differ in source and procedure.

TreatmentSourceProcedureRecovery
EXOFEMALE (exosomes)Tested exosomes from mesenchymal stem cellsTopical application or fine injections, outpatientMinimal downtime
Vaginal PRPPlatelets from your own bloodBlood draw, processing, injectionMinimal downtime
GYNSKILL (stem cells)Your own adipose-derived stem cellsSmall fat harvest, processing, injectionShort recovery from the harvest

GYNSKILL is described on our vaginal rejuvenation page, and the wider stem cell approach on vulvo-vaginal rejuvenation.

How many EXOFEMALE treatments are needed?

The number of EXOFEMALE treatments depends on the condition, its severity and how your tissue responds, so it is set individually. Tissue regeneration takes time, so sessions are spaced out and reviewed between them.

Mild dryness may need a shorter course than marked atrophy, or laxity combined with urinary symptoms. After the course, a maintenance session from time to time can support the result, especially after menopause, when the hormonal causes continue.

What results to expect from EXOFEMALE

EXOFEMALE results build gradually, because the vaginal lining, its blood vessels and its collagen renew over weeks and months. The aim is concrete: more comfort, better natural lubrication, less pain during intercourse, better tone and, in mild stress urinary incontinence, fewer leaks.

Progress is measured against your starting point. At follow-up the specialist reviews your symptoms and examines the tissue, and validated tools, such as the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) questionnaire for sexual health or a bladder diary for leakage, make the change visible. Results last longer when pelvic floor exercises continue and when the hormonal side of menopause is managed with your doctor.

Who EXOFEMALE suits

EXOFEMALE suits women who want a non-surgical, regenerative option for intimate tissue changes: dryness and atrophy after menopause, laxity or reduced sensation after childbirth, mild stress urinary incontinence and discomfort during sex. It is also an option for women who cannot or prefer not to use hormonal treatments, after discussing it with their doctor. Treatment waits during pregnancy, with an active infection, and until any unexplained bleeding has been investigated.

Aftercare and recovery

Recovery after EXOFEMALE is quick, with minimal downtime, so you can return to normal activities the same day. Mild tenderness or spotting at the injection points can occur and settles on its own.

  • Your specialist will tell you when to resume intercourse, usually after a short pause.
  • Avoid tampons and vaginal products for the period advised at discharge.
  • Report fever, increasing pain or unusual discharge promptly.
  • Continue pelvic floor exercises if they are part of your plan.

Quality and safety of EXOFEMALE

Exosomes are cell-free: no living cells are introduced, which lowers the risk of immune reactions. Bioscience exosomes are produced in GMP-certified laboratories, and every batch is tested for sterility, endotoxins, potency and purity before clinical use. The treatment is carried out by trained specialists after a gynaecological assessment.

What affects the cost of EXOFEMALE

The cost of EXOFEMALE depends on the number of sessions, the technique and whether PRP is added.

  • Assessment and examination.
  • Topical application, injection or both.
  • Number of sessions and maintenance.
  • Addition of PRP.

FAQ

How is EXOFEMALE done?

Exosomes are applied topically to the vaginal lining or injected with a very fine needle into specific areas, after cleansing and numbing. It is a short outpatient procedure in a private setting.

How many EXOFEMALE treatments will I need?

The number depends on your condition and how your tissue responds, and is set at the consultation. Sessions are spaced out, with occasional maintenance afterwards.

Is vaginal exosome treatment painful?

Topical application is painless, and injections are given after a topical anaesthetic, so they usually cause only brief pressure or a short sting.

Can exosomes be combined with vaginal PRP?

PRP and exosomes bring different regenerative signals, so they can be part of the same plan. Your specialist decides whether combining them is useful for your symptoms.

What is the downtime after EXOFEMALE?

Downtime is minimal and you can return to normal activities the same day. Mild tenderness or spotting can occur and settles on its own.

What is the difference between EXOFEMALE and GYNSKILL?

EXOFEMALE uses tested exosomes from mesenchymal stem cells, while GYNSKILL uses your own adipose-derived stem cells obtained from a small fat harvest. Both aim at the regeneration of intimate tissue.

When can I have intercourse after EXOFEMALE?

Your specialist will advise you, usually after a short pause to let the tissue settle. Comfort and hydration then improve gradually over the following weeks.
