How to Choose a Stem Cell Clinic in Dubai

Licence, laboratory, doctor, price and red flags: what to check before you book

Not sure where to start?

Tell us what you are looking for. Our specialists will review your request and suggest the right clinic for you.

The best stem cell clinic in Dubai for you is a licensed facility whose doctor treats your condition within their own specialty, whose cells are prepared in a GMP-certified laboratory, and which gives you a written plan, an itemised price and a follow-up schedule before you pay. Use the ten checks below to compare any stem cell clinic in Dubai: licence, laboratory, cell processing, physician, plan, price, consent, claims, aftercare and reviews.

Whether you are considering stem cell therapy in Dubai for a knee, hair loss or skin, the same checks apply, and a good clinic will welcome every one of them. This guide comes from Bioscience Institute, which has run GMP-certified cell laboratories since 2007 and operates a clinic and cell factory in Dubai Healthcare City, so these are also the questions we expect patients to ask us.

1. Licence and registration

Check that both the facility and the doctor hold a current licence from the health authority that covers the clinic's location. In Dubai that is the Dubai Health Authority (DHA); clinics inside Dubai Healthcare City are licensed by the DHCC regulator; Abu Dhabi has the Department of Health and the Northern Emirates the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP).

To verify, search the doctor's name and the facility in the DHA Sheryan register, the authority's online licensing system, or ask the clinic for its licence numbers and check them there or with DHCC. A clinic that hesitates to give a licence number has answered the question.

Since 28 February 2026, the DHA Standards for Stem Cell Services (ST-68) set how licensed facilities work: a licence for stem cell services, an accredited GMP laboratory, registered products, written consent and follow-up. Same-day procedures with your own cells, such as SVF, PRP and bone marrow concentrate, are routine care. Our guide is stem cell therapy legal in the UAE explains who regulates what.

2. Laboratory and GMP certification

Ask which laboratory prepares the cells and whether it holds GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certification, then ask to see the certificate. Under ST-68, clinics that use cell products must work with an accredited GMP laboratory.

GMP means controlled cleanrooms, documented procedures, trained staff and a record for every batch. Before release, each batch should pass sterility, endotoxin, mycoplasma and identity tests. Bioscience publishes its GMP certificates for San Marino and Dubai on its certifications page and shows its Dubai cleanrooms on live laboratory webcams.

3. Who processes the cells, and where

You should know exactly what will be injected: your own cells or donor cells, a same-day preparation or laboratory-expanded cells, how many cells and where they are prepared. Same-day preparations such as SVF or bone marrow concentrate contain an uncounted mix of cells; expanded cells are grown for two to four weeks and counted (Bioscience protocols use 10 to 200 million per treatment).

Ask how samples are labelled and traced, and whether your cells are ever pooled with anyone else's (they should not be). If the cells are prepared away from the clinic, ask how they are transported, at what temperature and with which documents. And remember that an injection prepared from a blood draw in minutes is PRP, not stem cells; our comparison of stem cells vs PRP explains the difference.

4. The physician's training and specialty

The doctor who treats you should be licensed and trained in the specialty that matches your condition: orthopaedics or sports medicine for joints, dermatology or plastic surgery for skin and hair. Under ST-68 a facility offers stem cell therapy within its own licensed specialty, so the title on the doctor's licence should match the condition being treated.

Ask who performs the harvest and the injection, how often they do this procedure, whether joint injections are image-guided, and who will see you at follow-up. You should meet the treating doctor before the day of the procedure, not only a coordinator.

5. A written treatment plan

A proper clinic gives you a written plan: your diagnosis and imaging, why this treatment suits you, the alternatives (PRP, hyaluronic acid, physiotherapy, surgery), the cell source and dose, the number of sessions, the timeline and what result is realistic. A plan lets you compare clinics like for like.

It also protects you from scope creep. If extras such as IV infusions or additional areas appear on the day, they should have been in the plan with a medical reason.

6. What the price includes

Ask for an itemised quote: consultation, tests and imaging, harvest, laboratory processing, cell count and quality control, the injections, follow-up visits and storage of any extra cells. Two quotes that look far apart often differ mainly in what they include.

Be careful with requests to pay the full amount long before treatment, and ask what happens if a batch fails its tests or you turn out not to be a candidate. Check, too, whether follow-up visits and any repeat session are included. Our guide to stem cell therapy cost in Dubai shows what drives prices.

You should receive a written consent form that explains the procedure, its risks, the alternatives and which parts are still under research, with time to read it at home. Signing on the day, under time pressure, is a warning sign.

Ask for the follow-up schedule in advance: when you will be reviewed, how results will be measured and how a side effect would be reported and handled. The International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) publishes patient guidance built on the same principles.

8. Evidence claims and red flags

An honest clinic talks about ranges, probabilities and who is a good candidate; a clinic that promises a "cure" or "guaranteed" results is telling you something about itself. The DHA standard for medical advertising on social media (2026) keeps words such as "best", "only", "100%", "guaranteed", "no side effects", "immediate results" and "miracle" out of licensed facilities' posts.

Be wary of long lists of unrelated conditions, from autism to Alzheimer's disease, treated with the same injection, and of websites that present other institutions' research as their own results. Ask which published studies support the treatment for your condition, and what results they reported.

9. Aftercare

Good aftercare is written down before treatment: what to do in the first days, activity limits, rehabilitation for joints, whom to call out of hours and when the next visits are. After a knee injection, mild soreness for one to two weeks is common and improvement builds over weeks, so a clinic that schedules no review is leaving you alone in the part that matters.

Ask too what happens to any remaining cells: where they are stored, for how long and what a booster would involve. For knee-specific recovery, see stem cell therapy for knees.

10. Genuine reviews

Read reviews on independent platforms such as Google Maps, and look at their number, how recent they are, whether they describe specific details and how the clinic replies to critical ones. A handful of glowing, vague reviews posted in the same week tells you little.

Influencer content is advertising, not a review. Under DHA rules, a facility must approve content that names it, and patient images need written consent, so polished before-and-after posts are marketing material. The most reliable signal remains a direct conversation with the treating doctor.

Questions to ask a stem cell clinic in Dubai

Take this list with you; a good stem cell clinic in Dubai will answer every question without hesitation.

  • What are your facility and physician licence numbers?
  • Which laboratory prepares the cells, and can I see its GMP certificate?
  • Are the cells mine or a donor's, same-day or expanded, and how many will I receive?
  • What release tests does each batch pass before injection?
  • Am I a good candidate, and what would make me a poor one?
  • What are the alternatives, including PRP and surgery?
  • What result is realistic for my condition, and by when?
  • What does the price include, and what is your refund policy?
  • Can I take the consent form and the treatment plan home?
  • Who do I call if something feels wrong after the procedure?

Red flags: when to walk away

  • Words such as "cure", "guaranteed", "100%" or "no side effects".
  • No licence number, or a licence that does not match the clinic's name or address.
  • No named laboratory and no GMP certificate.
  • "Stem cells" prepared from a blood sample during the visit.
  • One injection offered for dozens of unrelated diseases.
  • Pressure to pay in full or sign the same day.
  • No written plan, no itemised price, no follow-up schedule.
  • A doctor whose specialty does not match your condition.

How Bioscience answers these checks

We publish what this checklist asks for. Our certifications page lists the GMP certificates of the San Marino and Dubai laboratories, the UNI EN ISO certification and the Health Facility Licences of the Dubai clinic and laboratory. Every batch is tested for sterility, endotoxin, mycoplasma and phenotype before release, and our clinical content is reviewed by the Bioscience Institute Scientific Board.

FAQ

What is the best stem cell clinic in Dubai?

There is no single best clinic for everyone. The best stem cell clinic in Dubai for you is licensed for your procedure, uses a GMP-certified laboratory, has a specialist for your condition and gives you a written plan and an itemised price before you pay.

How do I check if a stem cell clinic in Dubai is licensed?

Ask for the facility and doctor licence numbers and verify them in the DHA Sheryan register. For clinics inside Dubai Healthcare City, check the licence with the DHCC regulator.

What does GMP certification mean for a stem cell clinic?

GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) means the laboratory that prepares the cells works in controlled cleanrooms with documented procedures, trained staff and batch records. Each batch should pass sterility, endotoxin, mycoplasma and identity tests before release.

Should I pay in full before stem cell treatment?

Be cautious about paying the full amount long before treatment. Ask for an itemised quote and a written refund policy covering a failed batch or a finding that you are not a candidate.

Is stem cell therapy legal in Dubai?

Yes, in licensed facilities. Same-day procedures with your own cells, such as SVF, PRP and bone marrow concentrate, are routine care, and DHA standard ST-68 sets how licensed facilities work, from the GMP laboratory to consent and follow-up.

How do I find stem cell treatment near me?

Start from licensed clinics in your emirate and apply the ten checks in this guide: licence, laboratory, physician, written plan, itemised price, consent, honest claims, aftercare and independent reviews.

Are online reviews of stem cell clinics reliable?

Reviews on independent platforms are useful when there are many, they are recent and they describe specific details. Influencer posts and before-and-after images are advertising and should not replace a conversation with the treating doctor.
